It seems that Britain’s fruitiest superhero is getting his own movie in 2015. An announcement was made back in March via an official website, but a teaser movie poster has now been unveiled at London MCM Expo.
On the 21st of May 2005, Doctor Who fans were introduced to a very special character named Captain Jack Harkness. Con man. Expert flirter. Amazing Coat. My introduction to Jack was a few years later, but since the 9 year anniversary came the same day as I finished another Torchwood/Doctor Who rewatch, I thought it was only fitting to dedicate a little post to my love for Jack.
I started a new segment on my radio show, looking back at a particular year in music and events that took place also. It was fun looking through a year of music to select songs to play, but since I am such a music addict (and possibly a tragic 90s music lover) it was hard to pick just enough songs for an hour – usually about 10. But I thought it might also be a fun addition to my blog.
So, first up is 1994.
Who: Ricky Martin
Recommend: Because its Ricky Martin, duh.
Confession: I have been a fan of Ricky Martin since the mid 90s when Maria first hit the charts in Australia. Of course he really came to attention with The Cup Of Life but it was from Maria that I became a certified Martin fangirl. Not to say that I daydreamed about him or had posters of him all over my walls … ok, nevermind, I did. I have eyes, I’m only human. There is something positively addictive about his style of music though, even if they contain shallow lyrics like “she bangs” they are still tracks with great beats that you can get up and dance to.
Vida is no different, a song for the 2014 FIFA world cup, it captures everything that we’ve come to know and love Ricky Martin for, so check it out.
I also currently have the luxury of watching him as one of the coaches on The Voice Australia. Everything is coming up Team Ricky.
After the brief – blink and you’ll miss him – teaser trailer for The Flash, The CW have finally released an extended trailer giving us a look at new series The Flash.
Barry Allen first appeared in Arrow in season 1 as an introduction to the up coming series. He was hit by lightning following the meltdown of the S.T.A.R. Labs particle accelerator and remained in a coma. In The Flash, we’ll see the Central City Forensic specialist coming to terms with his new powers – the ability to run faster than any man alive.
I know as much about the flash as I did about Green Arrow before Arrow started – simply that they existed. Now that I’ve seen the trailer, I’m as excited for The Flash as I was for Arrow. Lets hope it doesn’t disappoint.
The CW has given us our first glimpse of their up coming series The Flash, staring Grant Gustin.
The series will be a spin-off from Arrow, set in the same universe and based on the DC Comics character Flash/Barry Allen. It will follow Barry Allen from his two episode appearance on Arrow as he learns to use his powers and solve crimes as a forensic scientist at the Central City Police Department.
The show will also star Jessie L. Martin, Tom Cavanagh, Candice Patton and Carlos Valdes. It will be produced by Greg Berlanti, Andrew Kreisberg and Geoff Johns.
Dont blink or you’ll miss him!
FOX have released a new featurette about its upcoming series Gotham. The more I see, the more I get excited. I just hope it can live up to the hype.
